MISSION STATEMENT INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL
In our Practice we are fully committed to maintaining high levels and standards of infection prevention and control.
This applies to
· Clinical procedures
· Our facilities
· The daily running of the surgery
We aim to provide a safe and hygienically clean environment for patients, staff and visitors.
We will ensure that our premises, equipment, medical supplies and clinical procedures meet those standards set out in our infection control checklist and we are dedicated to eliminating infection risks wherever possible.
We will use washable or disposable materials for soft furnishing.
We will keep the Practice clean, well maintained and safe at all times, ensuring yellow waste bins are locked away.
Every clinician will follow our infection control policy to ensure that the care provided, and equipment used meets appropriate safety and hygiene standards.
OUR COMMITMENT TO INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL
1. Encourage staff and patients to raise concerns or report incidents relating to cleanliness or infection control to learn and improve
2. Conduct infection control audit annually to monitor effectiveness of our procedures
3. Provide regular staff training and updates on infection control and cleanliness
4. Review policies regularly ensuring they reflect the current national guidelines
5. Ensure alcohol rub gel is available throughout the premises for both staff and patients. Ensure sharps bins are never overfilled
6. Continue ongoing commitment to provide a clean, safe and infection free environment for every service user
7. Ensure waste is disposed of in the toilet as there is no sluice
